AI for Project Management is the third and final Short Course that comprises SOD’s Project Management Vocational Program. It represents the Technology component of SOD’s signature People, Processes and Technology pedagogical framework, the educational model underpinning the design and development of all SOD learning programs. This progressive approach recognises that successful organisational transformation begins with people, advances through effective processes and is enabled by technology. Building upon the organisational support, stakeholder commitment and project teams established in Level 1 and the structured project management processes developed in Level 2, this third level focuses on applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital platforms and emerging technologies to support effective project delivery. Grounded in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and incorporating Agile methodologies where appropriate, students will explore how AI-powered tools can enhance four essential areas of project management. They will learn to apply AI to project time management, including activity sequencing, schedule development, progress monitoring and identifying potential delays. Students will also investigate how AI can support project quality management through quality planning, performance analysis, identifying non-conformances and recommending corrective actions. In project communications, students will explore how generative AI and digital collaboration platforms can improve stakeholder reporting, information sharing, meeting documentation and communication effectiveness.Through practical activities using contemporary AI tools and project management technologies, students will develop the ability to select and apply appropriate digital solutions while maintaining professional judgement, human oversight and accountability. Each micro-credential comprises 24 hours of learning, providing a total of 96 hours for this Short Course. Successful completion of all three Short Courses, representing 12 micro-credentials and 288 hours of learning, contributes towards completion of SOD’s Project Management Vocational Program.
