SOD’s Digital Marketing Vocational Program prepares students to develop, implement and optimise digital marketing initiatives through a distinctive educational approach built around People, Processes and Technology, the signature pedagogical framework underpinning every SOD learning program. This progressive approach recognises that successful digital transformation begins with people, advances through effective business processes and is enabled by the strategic application of technology. The program brings together 12 complementary micro-credentials organised into three progressive Short Courses, each representing an essential dimension of modern digital marketing.
Level 1 – People: Digital Marketing & Personal Branding focuses on developing the human capabilities required to succeed in collaborative digital marketing environments. Students learn to establish their professional identity, develop personal branding and influencer marketing skills, communicate effectively through creative briefs and build meaningful professional relationships. They also explore organic marketing, earned media and social media engagement, developing the communication, creativity and collaboration skills needed to work effectively with colleagues, creative teams and organisational stakeholders. This first level establishes the human foundation for the marketing processes and technologies introduced in subsequent levels.
Level 2 – Processes: Digital Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management focuses on establishing the business processes required to transform marketing ideas into measurable commercial outcomes. Students learn to develop websites that support organisational objectives, establish digital sales channels, design customer conversion pathways and implement monetisation strategies. They also explore process optimisation, workflow improvement, entrepreneurship and business innovation, learning to identify market opportunities, improve operational efficiency and develop commercially viable digital initiatives. This level emphasises how well-designed processes enable organisations to coordinate marketing activities, improve customer experiences and achieve sustainable business growth.
Level 3 – Technology: Marketing Technology, AI & Automation introduces the digital platforms, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies that enable and enhance the marketing processes established in Level 2. Students learn to apply marketing automation, use AI-powered productivity tools, audit digital marketing performance and evaluate opportunities for technological improvement. They also explore the ethical and responsible use of AI, including data privacy, transparency, security and human oversight. Through practical activities, students develop the confidence to select and apply appropriate technologies that improve marketing effectiveness, organisational productivity and business performance.
Together, these three levels establish a progressive learning pathway in which people provide the foundation, processes provide the structure and technology provides the capabilities to enhance digital marketing performance. Each micro-credential comprises 24 hours of learning, with four micro-credentials forming a 96-hour Short Course. Successful completion of all 12 micro-credentials, representing 288 hours of learning, completes SOD’s Digital Marketing Vocational Program and equips students with practical, industry-relevant capabilities to contribute confidently to digital marketing activities across diverse organisational environments.
