Description

In this micro-credential, students will learn how to define, plan, manage and control project scope using principles and practices from the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), while integrating Agile project management methodologies where appropriate. Students will develop practical skills in gathering stakeholder requirements, establishing project objectives, defining deliverables, identifying project boundaries and developing comprehensive scope management plans. Particular attention will be given to creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), establishing scope baselines, managing stakeholder expectations and preventing scope creep. Students will also explore Agile approaches to scope management, including product backlogs, user stories, iterative planning and adapting requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital project management tools will be used to support requirements analysis, scope documentation, work breakdown planning and change impact assessments. Students will learn how to evaluate scope changes, manage approval processes and select appropriate predictive, Agile or hybrid approaches to maintain alignment between project deliverables and organisational objectives. This micro-credential contributes towards the completion of SOD’s Project Management vocational program.
